Liz Hunt grew up in the town of Maryville, Mo, where she has worked alongside her family of auctioneers since the age of six when she sold her first item. She completed her high school education at Maryville High School in 2011.
Soon after receiving her diploma, she started attending Northwest Missouri State University, where she worked toward her B.S. Degree in Agricultural Science with a minor in Biochemistry. All while taking her Missouri Real Estate License Courses in St. Joseph, Missouri.

The Future
In November 2015, she attended the World Wide College of Auctioneering (WWCA) in Mason City, IA, where she graduated. With the knowledge that she has gained and the guidance from her family, she is now a 5th generation auctioneer. Liz received two Degrees in Auctioneering and one in Bilingual Auctioneering in Spanish, being among the first women to achieve the degree. During her time there, she trained with the champions! She increased her knowledge in an abundance of fields, such as auction law, appraisals, auction marketing, real estate, and market patterns. Liz has performed every task there is in the auction industry, from clerking, ring man, auctioneer, set up, marketing merchandise, and internet cataloging of items, all while working with the buyers and sellers. That’s to name a few!
After graduation from WWCA, she has worked with her father, Steve Espey, and has branched out to create a name for herself with her own company, Hunt Auctions & Land.
On December 8, 2016, Liz had the privilege of selling for the Guinness World Record Auction, “Most Nationalities in an Auction Team at an Auction (Single Venue).” She represented the Cherokee Indian Nation during this event! Along with one for “Most Female Auctioneers in a Single Auction Team.” On top of being a part of a Guinness World Record Auction, she also competed as a contestant on the CBS daytime Reality TV show, The Amazing Race, on Season 29! Where she had the opportunity to participate in another Guinness World Record in Alesund, Norway, for the “World’s Largest Bonfire for 2016”. Liz used her skills as an Auctioneer to help her in the race! All while selling in 12 countries around the world during the show.

When not calling an auction, she has a rewarding career in the aerodynamics and aerospace industry. She uses her 15 years of mechanical engineering experience and 25+ years in sales and negotiations for Sales Haven. There, she manages numerous company's sales teams across the United States, Canada, and Europe, coaching and mentoring them in sales and negotiation. She works out of the Nashville, TN office.
As of January 2024, she was inducted into the Marquis Who's Who Biographical Listee of 2024-2025. This is an elite list of the top three percent of the world's professionals who have excelled in their fields. Individuals who have demonstrated longevity, leadership, and prominence in their fields are eligible for this honor.
In February 2024, Liz's outstanding contributions were further acknowledged when she was inducted into the Marquis Who's Who of Professional Women of 2024. This distinction is reserved for the top one percent of professionals worldwide, recognizing their significant achievements across all industries. Liz's achievements have been featured in esteemed publications such as Time magazine, Forbes, and Marquis Melinial magazine.
In May 2024, the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) recognized her as the "Top Auctioneering Colonel of the Year," celebrating her extensive contributions to society, sales experience, professional achievements, and dedication to the auction industry. She was also featured on the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square during Fashion Week in September 2024.
Liz is also a proud member of the IAA (Iowa Auctioneers Association) and the MPAA (Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association). She competed in the 2021 Iowa Auctioneers Contest at the Iowa State Fair and placed in the top 5 as the only female who competed out of an all-men competition!
Along with a rewarding career in the auction industry, she is a committed and dedicated wife and mother of two children, whom she hopes to pass down her legacy and company, making them sixth-generation auctioneers. When she is not traveling for work or auctions, she spends time at home with her family and two Australian Shepherds.
With 25+ years of experience under her belt, Liz, along with her father's 45+ years of experience, holds a unique position in the auctioneering industry. She specializes in various categories, including real estate, farm machinery, antiques, benefits, construction equipment, personal property, and much more.
